What are dental implants ?

Learn everything about implants.

The implant is a special titanium screw, which is surgically inserted into the bone under the gums and replaces the root of the tooth. The titanium from which the implants are made of, is a completely biocompatible material for the human body and is literally integrated into the surrounding bone.

Can all patients accept the Implants?

A candidate patient to receive treatment with dental implants must have a health periodontium, in other words to be treated for gingivitis or periodontitis.

It also needs to have adequate bone support, the presence of sufficient bone mass to support the implant both in height and width.

The medical history of the patient also plays an important role, which must be thoroughly examined.

Are there any consqequences if lost teeth are not replaced?

The loss of an irreplaceable tooth can cause the following complications:

1. Displacement / movement of neighboring healthy teeth and then cause periodontal and caries disease to these.

2. Documented,  tooth loss causes problems / difficulty in chewing with consequent indigestion problems.

3. Loss of bone around lost teeth and development of an aging face.

4. Speech problems.

5. Loss of lip support.

 Is it a painful process?

After performing the local anesthesia, the patient feels absolutely nothing.

Many patients have reported that the whole procedure is less painful than the tooth extraction and is generally much easier and more tolerable than they expected.
